As a support team we love hearing from our users how new features could help speed up their processes. Plus, it means we get to see first hand how Marvel users can help influence and shape the platform.
Feedback and feature requests are essential to deciding the next steps we take at Marvel and often work their way into our roadmap. However, as features go into build, it's sometimes useful to have a quick fix solution whilst you wait for the real thing. One of our main goals as a support team as a whole is to solve problems for our users and when there isn't a direct way we sure do love a workaround.
Here's this month's three most requested features, what they mean for the product and some useful workarounds from us!
Sections
You voted, we listened!
Sections are coming to Marvel very, very soon. The team are currently working on the finishing touches to this feature and you'll be updated the second it's live.
Not sure what Sections is? With this feature, you'll be able to sort and separate your project into manageable segments and bring some zen to your prototypes.
Interactive form fields
Forms are a great way to quickly gather information from your testers, it's no surprise that 'interactive form fields' sit at 2nd place on our list of most wanted features.
As our prototypes do not currently support capturing data, there is no direct way to add an interactive form. We know that this functionality or look of a form is essential to some of your projects, so do not worry, we have a solution!
Survey
Link to a Typeform questionnaire or survey using our hotspot to URL destination feature. To do this simply:
- Grab the Typeform URL
- Head to your Marvel Project
- Open the screen of your choice in the prototyping tool
- Draw your hotspot
- Select *Link to URL or embed* as your destination
- Drop your Typeform URL in the box
- Save and play your project
- Applaud yourself for creating yet another amazing prototype :D
Subscribe your testers
Need that extra step of subscribing users to a mailing list? We've got you covered! Follow the steps above, but simply drop in your Mailchimp URL. Mailchimp even have a great tutorial page on how to do this.
Form flows
Don't need to capture any information, but still want to show off how great a form would look in your project? We have a solution for that too! Simply incorporate data entry in your design and link each screen together with hotspots.
Check out this project that shows how to do it:
Horizontal Scrolling
Horizontal scrolling can be super useful for adding extra space in your designs but it's currently not supported in our platform. Much like with Sections and Forms, we don't like to leave our users with no option to add functionality they need so you will be happy to hear you can emulate scrolling with the use of GIFs. Check out this project that shows some great horizontal transitions:
