We all <\/em>stand on the shoulders of giants<\/em><\/a>. This is the first in a series of posts that show how <\/em>we at Philosophie<\/em><\/a> hone tools and processes against the whetstone of day-to-day practice. Sometimes we find something interesting about the technique or find some hack that makes it better. This is how we want to share it back with the community that we have benefitted from.<\/em><\/p>\n

We use Crazy Eights<\/a> often during ideation at Philosophie<\/a> including during our Design Sprints<\/a> (as does Google Ventures). They are great for diverging to lots of ideas before we start to build prototypes.<\/p>\n

You run the Crazy Eights exercise by quickly sketching a bunch of ideas as a team. Often it is done on a piece of paper that has been folded to make eight areas. You use a timer to force people to sketch as quickly as possible, usually within eight minutes total. Once you are done with all eight sketches you talk through your ideas with the group.<\/p>\n
